Could you send me a copy of your isapnp.conf file - I have been unable

you need to use setserial to complete the configuration
basically
setserial /dev/modem port 0x02e8 irq 4 UART 16550A

CHECK the man pages for the exact command, setserial can crash Linux.
/dev/modem may be a symlink to your actual modem port. I am not sure but
I think this is almost arbitrary. And I am sure the isapnp faq said not
to use irq 4 or 5.
