Hi! I am using redhat 5.0, and I am trying to connecmy box to the LAN. However, I get some stupid error message when I try to use ifconfig, and I wondered if any of you could tell me what this means [root@bernt /root]#ifconfig eth0 129.0.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.255 up SIOCSIFADDR: Operation not supported by device SIOCSIFNETMASK: Operation not supported by device (yes, the ip's are not the ones I use) I am using Kernel 2.0.32 if that can help. Is there anyone who knows anything about this ?
