to try slackware.   They didn't in 3.4, but I think you had a later
slackware you asked about a while ago.  aic7xxx _is_ on the RedHat 
images/boot.img, at least it was in 5.0, and I doubt they've dropped it,
but I don't know how to work RedHat installs.  Maybe expert mode?  Maybe
if you know what you want it will go easier.  If you have another working
linux system to compile a custom kernel on, that's what I'd do, because
that's what I know how to do. :-)
