Can ftp, telnet in ==> not out

Hey all,

Quick question:

I am running RedHat 5.1 on a 486. I can telnet in, ftp in, and even hit
the Apache Web page the install puts up from anywhere else. However,
when I am actually on the box I can't do anything but internal stuff.

Any hints?
