g77 is part of the GNU compiler package. You probably need to get a version
that is compatible with the working gcc you have installed. Check whatever
distribution you have on your system for a compatible version of g77 -- it's
been around for years, so there is almost sure to be a version that matches
your gcc. (The mismatch is probably a libraries problem, BTW - I ruined gcc
that way on one of my Linux hosts recently by doing an upgrade carelessly,
so I know it's easy to do.)
