You must have mounted your windows partition as type 'msdos'
Try to mount it with type 'vfat' and you'll get long filename support.
(edit the /etc/fstab file if necessary to change the type of this
filesystem).

Objet: long filename support

hello, all!

i have recently installed the kernel 2.0.35 over RH5.0 and i am now able
to
mount my win 95 FAT32 partitions. However, i thought tha 2.0.35 included
windows long filename support...? i don't seem to have this support,
with
all filenames on my windows partitions kept at 8.3 letters. any help
would
be appreciated. ;-) i am probably just missing something very simple,
aren't I?

thanks,

adrian b.
