Howdy,

Can someone tell me what file/process linux reads that detemermines the
configuration of the shell when loging in. My PC no longer reads the
/etc/profile or /etc/bashrc files (and probably others). I noticed I do
not have a .bash_profile, .bashrc, or .profile in my home directory
(running as root it is /root). My /etc/password file does specify root
to use /bin/bash, which it does, but none of the other files seem to be
getting loaded unless I manually source them.
Any help is appreciated
