I have a fresh install of red hat 5.1 and I went to add minicom onto the
machine and when I went to install it by the command line
rpm -ivh minicom-1.81.blah.blah
it returns this
cannot get exclusive lock on database
error: cannot open //var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm
also when I went into the control panel and went to glint and clicked on
available it starts to scan for packages and then just stops about a
quarter of an inch before completion accourding to the little slide bar
indicator? I have no idea what is wrong. Thanks for the help
