i'm having a prob. w/ pppd and was wondering if any of you can
help. i was playing with the ipcp options yesterday and
i think i must've activated a bug or something bec. i can
no longer connect to my isp. here's what i did exactly...
i specified the local and remote ips in the ppp options file,
added the ipcp-accept-remote and ipcp-accept-local options
and removed the noipdefault option. i dialed in, it failed, so
i restored the original settings, but then found they no
longer work. i have been trying to dial in since yesterday
w/ no luck at all. it authenticates, then it does the ipcp
thing, then the modem's send led flashes continuously but the receive
led remains idle. it goes on like that for a full minute then drops the
connection. in the log file, it says 'ipcp config timeout'. that's all
it it says. anyone know what the prob. is? i'm using pppd ver. 2.3.5.
