Hi Guys,
I'm trouble installing Red Hat 5.2. I have a 486dx66, 24mb RAM and 2 HDs.
hda1 and hda5 are dedicated to DOS/Windows 3.1. hdb1 is the linux root
partition and hdb2 is the linux swap partition. I have successfully made
the boot floppy and supplimental floppy and they work. I have been able to
partition hdb and format the swap partition.
I am trying to install from hda5 which has these directories:
D:\REDHAT\BASE
\RPMS
I have the all the files that I found at Sunsite in the BASE directory and
all of the RPM files in the base section of the comps file in the RPMS
directory except for LIBG++ and LIBSTDC++. Netscape just will not save them
to my HD. It must not like the ++ in the file name.
When I try to install, I get this message:
Device hda5 does not appear to contain
a Red Hat installation tree.
What is the secret trick to making this work?
