Well, it wasn't so hard. I DID figure it out. I am new to Linux but perhaps I represented myself poorly. All it took was getting the bootsector from sda3 -- the extended partition -- rather than from sda5-- the logical partition within it. NT loader now boot Linux just fine. :-) (I found this key missing tidbit of info in the lilo README file. Now on the the next learning hurdle. Jamie Faunt
