RADIUS is a protocol for a NAS to authenticate a user with a central server.
For example, an ISP might have a room full of NAS boxes. When someone dials in,
each NAS passes the user's logon request to the central RADIUS server (using
the RADIUS protocol) to determine if the user is allowed to connect and what
resources he is allowed to use.
