Hi!
There are a couple of years since I use Linux. But so far I used Linux
only as user, not as System Administrator.
I have a small hard disk (530M) and I have to use windoze (games &
work) but I had installed Linux twice. Those two times all I did was
surfing on my hard disk, edited small ascii files and read man-pages.
And I erased it twice because of lack of space for that huge win32
applications.
One month ago I said I had enough with m$ and I did all preparations
for installing again Linux (for good this time). And after one month I
can say all fit in just perfect. It's true that I don't have XFree,
ghostscript or tetex but with a little effort they can fit too.
Next step was to do a thing almost all Linux users had done: compiling
the kernel for the first time. And all works fine.
Now I have this POP3 mail account and I still use Netscape from
windoze. But I want to do all my mail from Linux. So I installed PPP
(2.2.0), sendmail (8.8.5), procmail (3.10), fetchmail (2.2) and pine
(3.95). All this on a Linux 2.0.30 from RedHat 4.2.
My first question goes like this: do I need something more?
2nd question: is there any known big problem with any of those
programs? All I need is to get/send mail. So far this is all the
networking I need.
What documentation do you recomend for this. I have on the RedHat CD a
bunch of howtos and nag-1.0.

        Till next time...
        Raider
