I am trying to install RedHat 5.0 on my new PC and am getting the message:
"An error occured during step 'Install bootloader' of the install".
I cannot manage a clean exit of the install nor boot Linux when complete.

The screen just prior to the error screen is titled "LILO Installation" and
has two choices:
/dev/hda Master Boot Record
/dev/hdb1 First sector of boot partition (I think this should read 'root
partition')

My choice is the second option.

The platform is a brand-new Gateway G6-400. Drive 0 is a 14.4 GB FAT32,
formatted as a single drive C. I have installed a small 1 gig drive as
drive 1 and formatted it using Disk Druid with root, swap, /usr, /home,
/usr/local and /usr/src partitions. No DOS partitions on this drive. I am
using System Commander Deluxe to manage the boot process. Everything I've
read indicates that this configuration should work fine.

Anybody have a suggestion?
