What's wrong with localhost :-)

Actually, you can change it in linuxconf if you have redhat, yast if you have
suse, or edit some files by hand. Put the name all by itself in the file
/etc/HOSTNAME, and then edit /etc/hosts to look like:

127.0.0.1       localhost
0.0.0.0         <your computer name>

This is assuming that you are not connected to a network, and that you internet
IP is dynamic (normal dialup for most people).
