Hi all,
I have this problem: I am (me and my network) connected to the Internet
through a sattelite link. The sattelite modem (me and the pair-modem) have
non-routable IP addr. (192.168.1.4 - 5). Till now, all worked Ok, and a
traceroute showed only the 192.168.1.4 address, without a name. From this
morning, traceroute shows:
read-rfc1918-for-details.iana.net(192.198.1.4)
Ok. I've read the rfc1918, and discovered iana.net registered all the
non-routable classes (10. , 172.16. , 192.168.). All Ok. But now, a
machine behine my firewall (with the address 192.168.10.*) can't telnet on
the firewall. In the server's logs I get this:
ipop3d : warning: can't verify hostname:gethostbyname(read-rfc1918-for-detail
s.iana.net) failed.
The telnet and pop3 have the same warning messages...
