grep works on a file or files, and its output is a file of line(s).
There is no reason you can't cascade greps, so:
grep <blah> <file> |grep <number>
if that suits what you are trying to do. I think I or somebody on the
list would have a better chance to give you sensible advice if you
could tell us what it is in general you are trying to do. I don't mean
to mock your English. International English is a language that is just
now being born, so we don't any of us know how to speak her quite right.
