if you are sure of what you are doing,
try using --nodeps and --force when upgrading ...
("man rpm" is your friend here).

Subject: Help with XFree86 upgrade [newbie]
Hi.
I have been trying to install a couple of RPMS's to upgrade to
XFree86-3.3.3
but without much success.
I was trying to isntall an RPM called XFree86-xfs-3.3.3.1-1.1 on a Redhat
5.2 machine with kernel 2.2.6
The command was rpm -Uvh XFree blah blah and this was the output.
error: file /etc/X11/fs/config from install of XFree86-xfs-3.3.3.1-1.1
conflicts with file form package XFree86-3.3.2.3-25. The error message
was
longer but is the same thing about other files like XFree86 binaries like
fslsfonts, fstobdf and xfs
I even tried to uninstall XFree86-2.2.3.2-25 but to no avail.
Please help
Kamnandi/ Kind regards
