There are all kinds of books out there by Perl, not just the ones by O'REILLY
(although I do recomend Learning Perl and Programming Perl by O'REILLY). I have
found that Perl 4.x books can be had very cheaply (anywhwere from $1 to $10) at
outlet book stores. There are a few things you might miss in Perl 5, but it
will get you well on your way...
There are also a ton of sites out there with Perl info. Here are the ones I
frequent:
http://www.cgi-resources.com/
http://www.perl.com/
http://www.perl.net/
http://www.extropia.com/ (Selena Sol's site)
I find it is easiest to learn by doing, so I recomend snagging some of the
scripts on these sites and playing with them...
