I'm having problems setting the correct time on my system (Mandrake
5.3).

The commands "date" and "hwclock" give the identical time, i.e.,
19:07:06.

However, the commands "date -u" and "hwclock -u" give two very different
times, i.e., 23:07:06 UTC and 15:07:06, respectively. (Shouldn't both
these -u type commands give identical UTC times?)

Furthermore, when I encounter one of those javascript clocks on the net,
my system time is according to what the "date" command says, but the
javascript clock indicates time according to the "date -u" command.

When I send email, the time stamp also indicates the first UTC time, not
what my system time is.

I've tried changing the time and timezone through linuxconf but the
problem remains. Please help...
