Some isp offer shell accounts on their system when you get a dial up account,
try to telnet to your isp and enter the username and passwd you use for email
and see what you get. Some offer shells, other offer a place to change or
password and some just kick you out as soon as you try to telent in.

telnet and see what you get, if you don't get a shell call you isp and ask if
they offer shell acess, they might do it for free or charge you an extra $5 a
month.

There is places on the web that offer shells for about $5 a month, I think
shellfreaks.com offers BSD and/or linux shells, not a bad deal.
