Hi,

I was reading the documentation that came with the 2.2 kernel about ESS
sound cards, in an attempt to make my ESS 1869 PnP do more than just cd
sound. It said:
For ESS chips an additional parameter "esstype" can be specified. This controls
the (auto) detection of the ESS chips. It can have 3 kinds of values:

Where do i give it this parameter, in the kernel somewhere or in the
pnp settings? Should i be using the kernel PnP support, or the
isapnptools?

Thanks,
Ben
