Hello,
I'm running slackware v3.6 with current kernel 2.2.7. I'm trying to get
the module ide-probe.o. I've compiled in loadable module support, I've
also added my sound card module, and one for my network card, however,
this one's eluding me. I've found the source in
/usr/src/linux/drivers/block and performed the following command:
gcc -DMODULE -c ide-probe.c -o ide-probe.o
and I get many errors, some saying that something is to large or an
unknown value, if someone will tell me how to get this error in to a file
I'll post it, note, have tried | to pipe, did not work.
Now, there's already an ide-probe.o file there, so I do:
insmod ide-probe
and it says, can't find the kernel version the module was compiled for.
Note, I've made the set version information on all symbols, yes, so I
don't get this.
Any help appreciated.
