Depends on your system. To change the default PATH for all users, you modify
either /etc/profile (for bash users) or /etc/login.defs . To modify the PATH
for only some individual users, you modify either ~/.profile or whichever
variant of ~/.bashrc your system is set up to use
All this is slightly distribution specific (the bash options themselves are
standard, but different distributions actually use different ones), and I
don't recall what you run.
