Just did this, you don't want lilo or linux in any form. Get something like Disk
Wizard which can fdisk and format your large hard drive and prepare it for
windows only. The earlier versions of this left a bit of "translation software"
behind which is ok for windows but lilo may not work properly. But now I think
you can fdisk and format the disk and then remove the "translation software"(a
big blue banner with "Disk Manager", or some such). I just installed win3.1 and
linux on a 3.2gig drive split about equal. Lilo didn't work so I set up loadlin
to boot linux. Take a look here;

Get DiskWizard, it will allow you to install just about any size hard drive with
just about any old BIOS.
