I'm not using RH6 myself, but this came up on another list I read ...
specifically the ssh piece. The workaround reported there was to compile the
ssh source on a RH5.2 system, then move the binary to the RH6 system.
Reportedly, this worked fine. 

There was speculation as to the reason for the problem, but it was generally
uninformed, since the poster who encountered the problem didn't post any
technical details. Guesses included egcs problems, glibc-2.1 problems, and
bad code in the sources. Who knows ... not me.
