Responses included - 1) dont have enough memory. (I'm running 48MB)
                                 2) have bad memory. (I guess it's ok,
Win95 works)
                                 3) No swap space activated. (I think
it's active [free.out...])

I run a K6/2 and I found this re: Signal 11 and the K6 at:
http://www.multimania.com/poulot/k6bug.html
"... The AMD-K6 processor has a bug that prevents reliable operation
when more than 32 MB of RAM is used. ..."
So I pulled SIMMs and brought the system down to 32MB, booted up, ran
startx and got the same errno 111 - Signal 11 error message.

Thanks for your help
