Hi,

I'm trying to get my ATI Mach64 graphics card to run in non-accelerated mode.
According to the Mach64 documentation on the xfree86 website, all ATI cards are
able to run in non-accelerated doublescan mode using the svga server. When I
tried it, the svga server detects my card correct but will only run in
accelerated mode and rejects the doublescan mode.

I have tried various settings including setting the "Chipset" field to "generic"
(which won't run properly for any resolution above 320x200) and "ati" (same
result as an auto-detect), as well as the "noaccel" option (the option was
invalid for the ATI and was rejected).

If anyone knows how to get an ATI CT to run in non-accelerated doublescan mode,
please let me know.

Off-topic. Are there any adverse effects if a monitor is ran at _below_ it's
specified range for horizontal refresh? I'm trying to obtain a 352x240 mode for
VCDs, but could only achieve 352x270 without doublescan.
