alias in kde

Hi everybody,

just ran across the problem, that all aliases defined in /etc/profile
are gone in kde... Other definitions might have vanished also, but I
have not checked so far.

What can I do to keep all settings? I could not find any hint in my
reference book and in the manpages/kde help etc. either.
