Do you know that the drive actually works? I had a similar problem a year or
so ago -- the scsi drive was located but not accessible. I discovered the
problem to be a bad head actuator motor -- the system could *find* the drive
because the indentifying info is in a ROM in the drive electronics
comewhere, but it couldn't *use* the drive due to the hardware problem.

Only mentioning this becaues your setup looks right from the Linux end, and
your error messages look similar to what I recall seeing.
