Yes, ncftp allow recursive gets of directories.
when connected issue the command get -R the/directory/you/want/to/fetch
if you put a trailing "/", the directory will not be created locally but   
all his contents (and sub-dirs which are hopefully created) will be   
fetched. if you don't put a trailing "/" then the dir will  be created   
locally with all its content.

You should use "get" without options to have a look at all the   
possibilities and READ THE MAN (man ncftp)
