I'm running RedHat 6.0 here on an AMD K6-333 with 32 mb RAM and a Graphics
Blaster TNT which has 16 megs of video ram on it. I am able to run X in 16 bit
mode at 1024X768 (maximum resolution for this monitor) or 32-bit in somewhat
smaller resolution (default resolution of 1024X768 gives me an "oversize"
virtual desktop larger than the physical monitor viewing size.) Whenever I try
to start X with -bpp 24 it dumps out (sorry I don't recall the exact error
message.)
Obviously, if it runs in 16 bit mode and 32 bit mode, it SHOULD work in 24 bit
mode, at least at 800x600, I should think.... any suggestions?
My monitor is a "generic" SVGA (MGC brand) I've been told by my boss that I
should tell Linux I'm using a CTX 15" as this monitor pretty closely
approximates the CTX.
Any ideas? If you need to see what my configs are, please let me know which
config file. :-)
Thanks...
