Ok... I found out part of the problem was that in my XF86config file there was
no 24-bit mode listing. I copied the 32 bit info and changed the depth to 24.
Then I tried to start X again, and it came back with an error something like
"device found, but no screens" and promptly shut down again. I have
successfully started it in 32-bit mode (after editing my choices so that it
automatically starts in 1024x768 mode <G>) and 16 bit mode. Does anyone know
what I need to do to get it to start in 24-bit mode?
Once again the machine specs are a Graphics Blaster TNT w/16 megs ram using the
SVGA server (despite the fact that I told it I have an Riva TNT card, it is
using the "generic svga") and the machine is a K6-2 333 with 32 megs ram.
Thanks...
