Well I like these commands:
ps -uax (it gives size of the process and such)
kill -INT|-HUP (as they are great when installing new daemons that I
constantly have to restart for config reasons)
ln -s /some/path name (used to make symbolic links for quick navigation
and such)
of course fortune (/usr/games/fortune on my box)...
and whereis (how I found the path for fortune, and many others!)
