I think he doesn't need to run samba, but just need to mount the nt drive   
using smbmount (and loading the smb fs driver into his kernel).
or maybe i mis-understood?
anyway the SMB howto is a good lecture to begin with

You need to run Samba. It's the only filesystem sharing that the NT box

understand. There's a Samba HowTo (or maybe it's called SMB), I believe.
