Hi,

I have a slight problem with my PCMCIA set-up. It generates OOPSes. I
informed the PCMCIA "code-owner" about this and he says it's a known problem
and they're working on it.

All fine sofar. I can wait. However, Whenever I have had such an OOPS I need
to reboot to start using the PCMCIA slot again. When I do this fsck gives an
error that sounds like this (excuse the terrible handwriting):

/dev/hda4 was not cleanly unmounted, check forced
Deleted inode 4131 has zero dtime FIXED

I've traced inode 4131 back to this file: /proc/sys/net/core/rmem_defaults

After fsck has fixed the problem all seems to work well. But the obvious
questions arise: What is this file there for? How big is this problem. Am I
commiting russian roulette? Should I avoid using PCMCIA until the problem is
fixed?

TIA,
