I just compiled ttysnoop with glibc. It works, too. :-)
(metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/utils/terminal). It says it will work with
telnet, and I don't see why it wouldn't, though I haven't tried it yet.
Getting it to compile with glibc is no big deal. Just add -lcrypt and
-lshadow to the LIBS = in the Makefile, and substitute <sys/blah.h> fir
<linux/blah.h> wherever linux/blah.h causes symbols to be redefined.
Probably all cases of linux/blah.h. :-). I will try how it works with
telnet later today. Oh, I added -DSHADOW_PWD to CCOPTS too. I'm not
sure if RH uses shadow by default. This is SlackHat :-).

I don't remember that I did anything else to it, but if you haave some
trouble probably I can help.

To make it fully RedHat friendly you would want to make the security
part PAM aware. I haven't bothered doing that with ttysnoop yet, but
you can get an example of how to do it in the RH patches included in any
SRPM of a security related command, say login or xdm or so.

Or have a look at lockvc (metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/utils/console/).
That's a fairly small package with a pam-aware option.
