I previously wanted to keep this RedHat system purely RPM so that
it would be easy to manage, but alas, it cannot be. I am wondering what
the easiest way for RPMs and .tar.gz to coexist. I don't want to
constantly have to use --nodeps. I do want to use .tar.gz of the kernel
so I can stay updated, and I need to use the .tar.gz of gtk+ so that I
can have a new enough version to run Glade. Are there more updated
versions in RPM? I prefer RPM if possible.
