Hi all,

I have purchased all the hardware to install a small home based LAN and
am wondering if what I bought will work correctly. I would like to be
able to use both Linux (RH 5.1) and Win95 (if it's possible). Initially
there will only be two machines; one with Linux and Win95 , and the
other with only Win95.

This is the LAN hardware:

2 Netgear FA 310 TX PCI NIC cards 10/100
1 Netgear DS-104 Hub
CAT 5 premise wire and three patch cords, Keystone jacks etc.

And the PC's:

The Linux/Win95 machine:
PII 233 128Mb SDRAM, Asus P2B AGP
This machine is currently running RH 5.1 and Win95 (dual boot) with no
problems.

Win95 machine:
Cyrix P 166+ 64 Mb EDO, Supermicro P5STE

I hope to be able to share my Internet account (modem) and install a
cable modem in the future. But for now I just wondered if this setup
will go fairly smooth and if this LAN hardware is suitable. I hope I
have had included enough information..

TIA

Dennis Herbst
