First transmission got kicked back by mail server so I'm forwarded this note.
Hopefully it won't wind up being sent twice.

Thanks... Ben

Haines,

It depends on whether or not any work is being done on the PC. I booted my old
DELL 466ME running Caldera OpenLinux 1.3 and then ran the uptime command 7
times with varying time delays between each command and got the following
results:

23:36:48 up 2 min, 1 user, load average: 0.24, 0.15, 0.06
23:36:59 up 2 min, 1 user, load average: 0.20, 0.14, 0.06
23:37:04 up 2 min, 1 user, load average: 0.18, 0.14, 0.06
23:37:09 up 2 min, 1 user, load average: 0.17, 0.14, 0.06
23:40:57 up 6 min, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.06, 0.03
23:46:26 up 11 min, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.00
23:53:18 up 18 min, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

So, it appears that if you've got an idle machine, it doesn't take long (max of
15 minutes?) to get all three of these values to zero.
