If I recall correctly, all the newer versions require at least 8 megs to
install. You might check Slackware, which has always been the best at
supporting ancient and weird hardware, to see if it still have a 4 meg
option. Or try some of the smaller distributions, like monkey Linux or small
Linux, that come on a few floppies. (Find them at
ftp://metalab.unc.edu/linux/distributions).
You cna expect slow performance. This will be okay if you just want a look
at how Linux works, but you'll probably get frustrated fairly quickly.
