I have recently acquired an HP SureStore 6000 tape unit to do
my backups. This is a DAT (DDS-2) system connected to my SCSI
adapter. Everything is working fine but I have one question.
Is it possible to format a tape on one of these units? Having
used ftape previously I was able to format a tape using ftools.
I have searched through the documentation and online for anything
that would indicate it was possible to format a DAT but I have not
found anything along these lines.
'mt' doesn't seem to support formatting. So, if it is possible
then could someone please point me in the right direction.
