I have an Additron 10 MB network card I am tring to set up with RH 6
(kernel 2.2.x). The card is not on the list of cards, but it is a NE2000
compatible card, with a Novell Netware sticker on one of the chips and
it says that it work with Novell and SCO and other Unices, so I figured
it would be OK.
I have installed the card and (though DOS) made it non plug and play.
This moves the card to a Jumperless set-up, that I assumed is similar to
a PNP thing? BUT, then I moved the card to a jumpered environment. In
all three situations, on boot up autodetect does not detect it and there
is no /dev/eth? entries. When I connect the card through a cable to
another card, the green light goes on, so I believe it is installed
properly.
Currently in the jumpered set up I have it set to I/O Base 300H and IRQ
10. There is another jumper for BROM Address, but any HowTos do not
mention what to do with this, so I have it set to DISABLE/NONE.
My question is: Is there any "map" or some tool to tell me which I/O
addresses and IRQs are used and is there any way to test or ping(?) a
card to see if it's detected?

Thanks,
Michael
