First, a suggestion - use something more descriptive than "question" in the
Subject. Imagine how useless all the Subject headers would be if they only
said "question" or "answer".
Now .. the Unix/Linux command comparable to the one you remember from DOS is
cat >filename
Enter stuff from the command line, and use ^D (control-D) to signal end of file.
But this is the hard way. Linux includes any number of small text editors
that you can use to create files. Your systm surely has one of the many
variants of "vi" on it (vim, nvim, elvis - whatever it actually is,
something will run as vi). You may have pico, emacs, joe, jed, or others I
can't think of right now.
