i have a win95 partition which i'm sure mounts the same as win98.
for auto-mounting i have the following line in /etc/fstab:
/dev/hda1 /dos vfat defaults 1 2
also, if you want to get really adventurous, you can install VMWare
(www.vmware.com) and use it to access your win98 partition as a
"virtual machine" thus having both linux and windows OS's
operational simultaneously. (very handy;-)
