What does your kernel say on start up? I have a working LS-120, and
dmesg contains the lines

hdc: LS-120 CSMO 05 UHD Floppy, ATAPI FLOPPY drive

(I have Kernel 2.2.9, what version are you running?)
The driver is compiled in to my kernel, and all I had to do was add
this line to my /etc/fstab:

/dev/hdc /mnt/floppy vfat noauto,user 0 0

I then stick in a floppy (or LS-120 disk, no difference) and type
mount /mnt/floppy

That should be all you need to do...
