There's a Sound HowTo at URL
http://metalab.unc.edu/LDP/HOWTO/Sound-HOWTO.html (and possibly on your
Linux system as well - look in /usr/doc). I doubt anyone can give you more
help than it can until you tell use (a) what sound card you have and (b)
what problem you are having installing it.
