yes you need to recompile the doom source code
i can send you the source if you need it or if you dont have gcc i can
send you
the bin that will work on your system
allso i have made some code that lets doom run on X server 16 bpp or 24
bpp or 32 bpp
the old one just runs on 8 bpp whitch drove me mad
