i now have slackware 4.0 installed with win95 .. linux on /dev/hda5 , win95 on /dev/hda1 .. (1 ) i setup linux.conf to install lilo at my mbr and ran /sbin/lilo .. it ran fine , and now everytime , i boot my comp , the lilo boot shows ( just as i want it ) , and i type in linux <enter > , linux boots perfectly .. i also tried using loadlin ... ( 2 ) if when i see "starting win95 " , i just press shift+f5 to load to dos .. then i type loadlin vmlinuz , it works ok .. ( 3 ) then i tried using an empty config.sys and a autoexec.bat which only includes the line " loadlin vmlinuz " it doesn't work and jumbled up numbers ( seems like memory addresses ) turn up on my screen .. i can't find out why this happens ? no 2 & 3 seems perfectly the same too me .. i don't think its any difference .. please help , suggestion , replies to my e-mail address please .. thank you .. btw , i use xdm .. where does it load xconsole ?
