hi guys,
when i run startx in my RH6.0, GNOME starts up. but when i move the mouse or click the
system justs reboots itself.
before i startx i run gpm -k otherwise it says "cannot open mouse - busy"
Then i set in the /etc/inittab the startup runlevel to be 5.
when the system comes up my monitor just blinks several times and i get this mess
"var/run/gdm already running (430)"
/* some number like this*/
"but was killed mysteriously"
after several such messages
INIT reports that x is respawning too fast -- so stopped for 5 minutes.
after 5 minutes same thing happens.
last line in /etc/inittab has an entry for xdm /* if this
could be of any help*/
